Daniel J. Singer

Dr. Daniel J. Singer is an Associate Professor of Philosophy at the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Arts and Sciences, with a secondary appointment in Legal Studies and Business Ethics at the Wharton School. He holds a Ph.D. and M.A. from the University of Michigan and a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania. His research focuses on epistemology, social philosophy, and the role of diversity and polarization in social systems, using agent-based computational models. He directs the Computational Social Philosophy Lab (CSPL), an interdisciplinary group exploring topics like jury dynamics, democratic structures, and expertise. His 2023 book *Right Belief and True Belief* defends a truth-loving epistemic consequentialist framework. He has won the Dean’s Award for Distinguished Teaching (2018) and served as a consultant at Boston Consulting Group (2022–2024).
