Dr. Daniel J. Rubin is a Professor of Medicine at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, where he serves as Interim Co-Director of the Center for Biostatistics and Epidemiology, Director of Clinical Research, and Deputy Chief of the Section of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism. His clinical interests include diabetes, thyroid and parathyroid diseases, and general endocrinology. Research focuses on inpatient diabetes management, prediction/prevention of hospital readmissions, and machine learning applications in healthcare.
Dr. Rubin holds an MD from the University of Florida College of Medicine and an MSc in Epidemiology from Boston University. He completed residencies in Internal Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and Frankford Hospitals, followed by postdoctoral training in clinical research and endocrinology at Boston University. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology.
His research has produced tools like the Diabetes Early Readmission Risk Indicator (DERRI) and interventions such as the DiaTOHC pilot study. He has over 60 peer-reviewed publications and numerous awards, including Top Doctors recognition in Philadelphia magazine and the Excellence in Teaching Award.
Dr. Rubin’s offices are located at Temple Endocrinology in Philadelphia and Temple Health Ft. Washington. He is actively involved in professional organizations like the American Diabetes Association and has participated in leadership programs such as TUHS LEAD 365.
