Daniel Hopkins is the Julie and Martin Franklin Presidential Professor of Political Science at the University of Pennsylvania, with secondary appointments at the School of Engineering and Applied Science and the Annenberg School for Communication. His research focuses on American politics, particularly racial and ethnic politics, state/local politics, and political behavior, with methodological expertise in research methods.
His recent work has examined public support for cross-issue compromises, ideological voting patterns, and racial classification dynamics. He has also contributed to understanding Latino political shifts toward the GOP and the limits of elite influence on ACA attitudes.
