Daniel Hill

Daniel Hill is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Liverpool, where he has taught full-time since 2011. His academic journey includes a BA and MA in Literae Humaniores (Classics & Philosophy) from Corpus Christi College, Oxford (1991–1996), an MA in Philosophy of Religion from King's College London (1996–1997), and a PhD in Philosophy from the University of London (1997–2001).

Research Interests:
Daniel Hill’s research spans philosophy of religion, philosophy of law, applied ethics, and political philosophy. He focuses on the nature of God (omnipotence, omniscience, perfect goodness), philosophical theology, the philosophy of Calvinism, legal theory (criminal law, marriage law, constitutional law), and the trolley problem in applied ethics. His work also addresses the Hart–Devlin debate, natural law vs. legal positivism, and the relationship between law and morality.
