Daniel George Arkfeld

Daniel George Arkfeld is a Clinical Professor of Medicine at the Keck School of Medicine, University of Southern California, where he has served since 1994 after completing a fellowship at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. He previously held the position of Chief of Rheumatology Clinic at LAC+USC Medical Center and currently directs Rheumatology CME Educational courses.

His research centers on autoimmune disorders with primary focus on rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, and Sjogren’s Syndrome. Dr. Arkfeld investigates novel therapeutic approaches including biologic agents, low-dose naltrexone, and psilocybin for pain management, while examining disease mechanisms through biomarker studies and adverse drug reaction analyses.

Recent publications (2020-2025) demonstrate expertise across rheumatology subspecialties including vasculitis, lupus complications, and neurological manifestations of autoimmune diseases. His work frequently bridges clinical practice with translational research, particularly in biologic therapies and diagnostic innovations for complex rheumatologic conditions.
