Daniel Gallardo Albarrán is Assistant Professor in Economic and Environmental History at Wageningen University, researching long-term patterns of health inequality and welfare disparities. His work examines historical determinants of public health infrastructure and economic development.
Current projects investigate global sanitation adoption (1850-present, funded by Dutch NWO) and colonial healthcare systems in Africa (1900-1960, funded by Swedish Research Council).
He teaches courses on Global Economic Inequality, Health Demography, and Environmental Economics while supervising student research.
