Daniel Gabriel Pons Miró

Dr. Daniel Gabriel Pons Miró is a Full Professor at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB), affiliated with the School of Fundamental Biology and Health Sciences and the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. He has taught courses such as Biology, Biochemistry of Membranes and Bioenergetics, and Experimental Techniques in Biomedicine across undergraduate and postgraduate programs since 2020.

His research focuses on energy metabolism, oxidative stress, and mitochondrial dysfunction in cancer, alongside investigating estrogen/phytoestrogen effects on breast cancer and biomarker discovery for early colorectal cancer detection. Over the past five years, he has delivered lectures in subjects like Molecular Biology Techniques and Industrial Biochemistry.

He collaborates with two consolidated R&D&I groups: Metabolismo Energético y Nutrición (GMEIN) and Oncología Traslacional (GMOT). Tutoring requires prior appointment.
