Daniel Fairfax

Daniel Fairfax is a Lecturer at Goethe University Frankfurt, affiliated with the Institute for Theatre, Film and Media Studies within Department 10 - Modern Philologies. He serves as Film Studies / Internship Coordinator for Film and Media programs, with office hours held on Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. during term time at the IG Farben House (Office 6,355).

His research interests focus on Film Studies and Media Theory, with particular expertise in Black Atlantic Cinema and contemporary film history. His work bridges theoretical frameworks with practical media education, emphasizing the cultural and historical dimensions of cinematic production and reception.

For the Winter semester 2025/26, Dr. Fairfax is teaching multiple courses including Introduction to Film Studies, Kracauer Lectures in Film and Media Theory, Lecture & Film: Black Atlantic Cinema, and Long Films, demonstrating his comprehensive engagement with both foundational and specialized topics in film studies.

As Film Studies / Internship Coordinator, he oversees student placements and practical learning experiences in the film and media industry, connecting academic study with professional development opportunities.
