Daniel F. Shantz

Daniel F. Shantz is the Entergy Chair in Clean Energy Engineering and Associate Dean for Research and PhD Programs at Tulane University's School of Science & Engineering. He holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Delaware.

His research focuses on developing novel materials for applications in sustainability, energy storage, and solar energy conversion. Specific interests include zeolite nucleation, biomimetic materials, and hybrid nanocomposites for catalysis and separations.

Publications demonstrate innovations in functionalized nanomaterials and biomolecule-based capture systems. Recent work explores catalytic applications of dendron-ordered mesoporous silica nanocomposites.

Professional experience includes prior roles at SABIC as Chief Scientist and Senior Manager in Future Feedstocks research.
