Daniel Cheney

Daniel Cheney serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the Geisel School of Medicine, Dartmouth College, and as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Vermont. He is also a Clinical Psychologist at the White River Junction VA Medical Center, where he provides specialized care.

His academic credentials include a PsyD and MA in Psychology from Roosevelt University and a BA in Psychology from the University of Vermont (2011).

Dr. Cheney specializes in PTSD, health psychology (addressing chronic pain, diabetes, and insomnia), and general mental health psychotherapy. He actively promotes evidence-based practice and measurement-based care, ensuring treatments are grounded in scientific research and tailored to individual patient progress. His clinical work integrates these approaches to optimize therapeutic outcomes.

He supervises trainee psychotherapy cases, mentoring psychology students and residents in the development of clinical skills and adherence to evidence-based protocols. This educational role extends across both academic institutions and the VA setting.
