Daniel Brinkman

Daniel Brinkman is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at San José State University’s College of Science. His research focuses on the intersection of numerical analysis, differential equations, and applied mathematics.

• Education: PhD in Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics from the University of Cambridge (2013), and dual BS degrees in Mathematics and Physics from the University of Minnesota (2009).

Brinkman specializes in modeling and numerical simulation of real-world problems using partial differential equations. His work spans applications in computer vision, semiconductor materials, and game theory, including a Department of Energy project on II-VI semiconductor materials in collaboration with industrial partners and Arizona State University.

He is actively engaged in interdisciplinary research and contributes to advancements in understanding thin-film semiconductor devices through computational modeling.
