Daniel Borgia serves as a Clinical Professor and Supervising Attorney of the Criminal Litigation Clinic at Drexel University's Kline School of Law. He maintains a dual role as an Assistant Defender for the Defender Association of Philadelphia, bringing current courtroom experience directly into his clinical teaching.
Professor Borgia's clinical supervision encompasses the complete criminal defense process:
- Client interviewing and counseling techniques
- Criminal investigation methods
- Preliminary hearings and pre-trial motions
- Evidentiary issues and case theory development
- Trial advocacy skills and courtroom techniques
- Negotiation strategies with prosecution
- Sentencing advocacy
Prior to his faculty position, Professor Borgia handled criminal cases at all procedural stages as an Assistant Defender and supervised first-year attorneys in Philadelphia's Municipal Court Unit. He earned his JD from Boston College Law School and BA from the University of Notre Dame, combining strong academic credentials with extensive practical experience in criminal defense.
His teaching focuses on the Criminal Litigation Clinic, providing students with hands-on representation of indigent clients while emphasizing ethical obligations and practical skills necessary for effective criminal defense practice.
