University of California, Los Angelesمعرفی
Daniel Blumstein is a Professor in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). His research focuses on the evolution of social and antipredator behavior, particularly in marmots, and explores how these behaviors influence conservation biology and urban ecology. He has conducted extensive studies at the Rocky Mountain Biological Laboratory and investigates ecological responses to climate change and human disturbances.

Research Interests: Dr. Blumstein integrates animal behavior with conservation policy, studies eco-tourism's ecological impacts, and examines behavioral responses to climate change. His work spans from theoretical studies on sociality to applied research on wildlife tolerance in urban landscapes.
Recent Publications highlight his work on urban biodiversity, wildfire effects on wildlife, fear heritability in marmots, and behavioral responses to human activity. His research often involves interdisciplinary collaborations and long-term field studies.
Grants: Supported by National Science Foundation grants DEB-1119660 and DEB-1557130, focusing on ecological and evolutionary dynamics in wild populations.
Labs & Teams: Leads the Blumstein Lab, which maintains the long-term yellow-bellied marmot study at the Rocky Mountain Biological Laboratory. The lab also collaborates with conservation scientists and policymakers on urban wildlife management.
