Daniel Arovas is a Professor in the Department of Physics at UC San Diego. He earned his Ph.D. from UC Santa Barbara in 1986. His research focuses on theories of strongly correlated quantum systems, particularly in low dimensions where quantum fluctuations create exotic states of matter. His investigations span fractional quantum Hall systems, quantum antiferromagnets, SU(N) spin systems, and effects of disorder on transport phenomena.
Arovars' research examines fundamental quantum phenomena in condensed matter systems, with publications exploring quantum magnetism, fractional statistics, and low-dimensional quantum behavior. His work often bridges theoretical concepts with experimental observations in quantum materials.
