Dani Jakubowski is a Professor of Art History at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) since 2019, specializing in contemporary Middle Eastern art with a focus on Egypt. She holds a Ph.D. in Art History from the University of Florida (2019), an M.S. from Pratt Institute (2015), and a B.A. from Oakland University (2009). Her academic career includes adjunct teaching roles at Belmont University, SAE Institute, and Volunteer State Community College, alongside gallery internships and residencies in Cairo, Egypt.
Her research explores intersections between art, politics, and cultural identity, particularly in post-revolutionary Egyptian contexts. Key themes include feminist art practices, video installations, and the role of art in socio-political movements. Jakubowski has curated exhibitions at the Townhouse Gallery and presented at major conferences like the College Art Association Annual Meeting and African Studies Association Annual Conference.
