Danail Obreschkow is a Professor of Astrophysics at the University of Western Australia (UWA), affiliated with the International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research (ICRAR) and Director of the International Space Centre. He holds an Australian Research Council Future Fellowship. His expertise spans extragalactic astrophysics, galaxy evolution, and experimental microgravity research. He has conducted 354 parabolic flight missions with the European Space Agency (ESA).
Education:
- PhD in Extragalactic Astrophysics, University of Oxford (2009)
- MSc in Theoretical Physics, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL), Switzerland
- MSc in Physics, Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, USA
Research Interests: Focuses on galaxy evolution, angular momentum dynamics, and stellar formation processes. Also explores microgravity physics through ESA collaborations. His work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to scientific innovation and planetary science.
