Dana Leibsohn is the Chair of the Music Department and holds the Alice Pratt Brown Professorship of Art at Smith College. She is an active academic with research intersecting art history and anthropology, focusing on colonial Latin America and trans-Pacific trade.

Leibsohn integrates digital technologies into her teaching, co-teaching interdisciplinary courses like Digital Effects and Making Knowledge. Students in her classes often create publicly accessible scholarship, such as projects on contemporary artists and historic artifacts. She serves as General Editor for Colonial Latin American Review.
