Dr. Dana Hart Slater is an Associate Professor of Accounting at Flagler College's School of Business, specializing in the Accounting, Economics & Finance department. She holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Louisiana–Monroe, a master’s in taxation, and a Ph.D. in accountancy from the University of Mississippi. Prior to academia, she worked as a tax practitioner and software support specialist in public accounting. She maintains an active CPA license in Florida and participates in professional organizations such as the Florida Institute of Public Accountants (FIPAC), the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), and the Southeast Case Research Association.
Her research focuses on corporate governance, accounting education methodologies, taxation practices, and compliance issues. She has published in journals including the Journal of Corporate Accounting and Finance, IMA Educational Case Journal, Quarterly Review of Business Disciplines, and CPA Journal.
Teaching responsibilities include Financial Accounting Principles, Intermediate Accounting I, Intermediate Accounting III, and Advanced Accounting. Office hours are held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
