Dan Wall is a Teaching Fellow in the Department of English Literature at the University of Aberdeen, within the School of Language, Literature, Music and Visual Culture. He is based in the Taylor Building at King's College and has been actively involved in teaching, research, and academic service.

Dan Wall's research focuses on Romantic and Victorian literature, with specializations in Early Modern drama, 19th-century British, Irish, and American literature, Romantic and Victorian fiction and poetry, biography, and early 19th-century periodical culture. He has a particular interest in Scottish literary identity and pan-European literary connections during the Romantic era. His work often explores figures such as John Gibson Lockhart, Sir Walter Scott, and Leigh Hunt, as well as periodicals like Blackwood’s Edinburgh Magazine.
His recent publications include chapters in The Cambridge Guide to the Eighteenth-Century Novel and The Edinburgh Biographical Dictionary of Scottish Writers, and co-editing Founder to Shore: More Crosscurrents in Irish and Scottish Studies. His most recent scholarly presentations (2023–2024) examine Romantic biography, periodical culture, and transnational literary influences, reflecting a sustained engagement with Romantic-era print communities and authorship.
His scientific recognition includes being nominated for the Principal’s Excellence Award for Teaching in 2020, and receiving the BARS Stephen Copley Postgraduate Research Bursary in 2006. He has also held a postgraduate bursary from the University of Aberdeen (2002–2006).
Wall has supervised undergraduate dissertations and served as an Adviser of Studies (2010–2013). He contributes to postgraduate teaching in the M.Litt in English Literary Studies and has served as External Examiner for PhD theses and programs at the University of Edinburgh and the University of Western Australia. He is also the Writing Support Tutor and Health and Safety Officer for his School, demonstrating strong institutional engagement.
He is a member of the Literary London Society, the British Association of Victorian Studies, and the British Association of Romantic Studies, reflecting his active participation in scholarly communities.
