Dan Synnestvedt serves as Associate Professor of Philosophy and Head of the Philosophy Program at Bryn Athyn College. His academic journey into philosophy began as a personal search for truth during college. His scholarship explores intersections of spirituality, ethics, political theory, and naturalism within philosophical frameworks.
Key contributions include editing the volume Faith and Learning at Bryn Athyn College (2004), where he authored the chapter "Philosophy: Friend or Foe of Faith?" examining tensions between philosophical inquiry and religious belief. His work on happiness was published in The New Philosophy journal by the Swedenborg Scientific Association. Dr. Synnestvedt also served as general editor for The World Transformed: Swedenborg and the Last Judgment (2011), contributing the article "Naturalism and the Last Judgment" analyzing naturalism's implications for eschatological concepts.
