Dan P. McAdams is the Henry Wade Rogers Professor of Psychology and Professor of Human Development and Social Policy at Northwestern University. He served as interim dean of the School of Education and Social Policy from 2022 to 2023. His research focuses on narrative psychology, life-story models of identity, and generativity in adult development. He has authored over 300 scientific publications and eight books, including *The Redemptive Self* (2006) and *The Strange Case of Donald J. Trump* (2020).
Education: PhD in Psychology and Social Relations from Harvard University (1979), BS in Psychology and Humanities from Valparaiso University (1976).
Research interests center on narrative identity, themes of power and redemption in life stories, and the psychological impact of modernity. McAdams has directed the Foley Center for the Study of Lives and is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association and Association for Psychological Science. His work has been featured in *The Atlantic*, *The New York Times*, and other prominent media.
Awards include the Jack Block Award (2012), Theodore Sarbin Award (2006), and multiple honorary degrees. McAdams leads the Study of Lives Research Group, exploring interdisciplinary approaches to personality development and biographical studies.
