Dan Miller is an Assistant Professor at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC), specializing in interdisciplinary art and technology. He holds a BFA from Hope College (1994) and an MFA from SAIC (1997). His work explores themes such as climate change, human impact on the environment, and the interplay between organic systems and technology.

Miller’s research focuses on creating kinetic art and robotic installations that reflect on environmental and technological themes. His works utilize materials like recycled plastics, microcontrollers, and sensors to mimic natural processes. Notable exhibitions include ISEA 2024 (Australia), Simulating Nature (Brown University), and Floodwaters (Evanston Art Center). He has received grants such as the Art and Humanities Initiative Award (2021) and multiple Stanley International Travel Awards.
