معرفی
Dan Esler is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at Simon Fraser University (SFU), serving from December 2023 to 2026. He is affiliated with the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) as a Research Wildlife Biologist. His research focuses on nearshore marine ecosystems, Arctic biodiversity shifts, and wildlife migration patterns. Key areas of investigation include coastal resource dynamics, avian tracking, and the ecological impacts of climate change on polar regions.
Esler’s work integrates field studies with telemetry data to understand migratory behaviors and ecosystem responses to environmental changes. His current projects address subsistence resource sustainability, benthic-pelagic ecosystem transitions, and the conservation implications of Arctic sea ice decline. He collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to bridge terrestrial and marine ecological research.
Professional activities include leadership in wildlife tracking initiatives and contributions to coastal resource management frameworks. His research outputs are disseminated through USGS platforms and inform policy decisions related to Arctic and coastal ecosystems.
