Dan Bogaard is an Associate Professor in the School of Information at the Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences, Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). He serves as Undergraduate Program Director and oversees Web-related curriculum, including the Minor in Web Development for Computing Majors. His teaching and research focus on Web-based communication, security, and emerging technologies.
Education: BFA from Indiana University and MS from RIT. Research highlights include NSF-funded projects like the College of Computing Scholars (ENGAgE) and Speech to Text Systems analysis. He co-authored multiple peer-reviewed publications in computing education and security.
Award: 2011 Eisenhart Award for Outstanding Teaching. Grants include NIH, NYS Department of Health, and Rochester General Hospital collaborations.
Teaching roles include courses on Web & Mobile Development, Client Programming, and Independent Studies. Active in curriculum development, including innovative projects replacing traditional co-ops with research experiences.
