Dan Adelman is the Charles I. Clough, Jr. Professor of Operations Management at the Booth School of Business, University of Chicago. He is a leading expert in business analytics, focusing on integrating data and decision analysis to enhance strategic and operational management. He co-directs the Tolan Center for Healthcare and leads the Healthcare Analytics Laboratory, where students collaborate on real-world healthcare projects.
His research spans healthcare data analytics, performance measurement, policy analysis with operations research (OR) in energy and healthcare systems, approximate dynamic programming, revenue management, supply chain optimization, and inventory/logistics modeling. Key projects include hospital benchmarking, ventilator allocation during pandemics, and dynamic electricity pricing for smart homes.
