Dr Damon Wischik is a University Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science and Technology at the University of Cambridge, affiliated with the Computer Laboratory. His research focuses on machine learning, probabilistic modeling, and data visualization, with applications in medicine, climate science, and transport modeling. He holds a PhD and has advised multiple doctoral students, including Dr Christopher Pluntke and Dr James Cruise. His work bridges theoretical foundations and practical applications, emphasizing uncertainty quantification in neural networks and interactive data tools.
He teaches courses such as Probabilistic Machine Learning and Data Visualization with R, and contributes to interdisciplinary programs like AI4ER. His recent publication, On the Path to AI: Law's Prophecies and the Conceptual Foundations of the Machine Learning Age, explores ethical and foundational aspects of AI.
