Max Planck Institute for Astrophysicsمعرفی
Damien Le Borgne is an Associate Professor at Sorbonne University (Pierre and Marie Curie University, Paris VI), affiliated with the Paris Institute of Astrophysics. He teaches Physics for undergraduate students and numerical computing methods for astrophysics graduate students.
- Research Interests: Galaxy formation and evolution, spectral evolution modeling, cosmological simulations, analysis of galaxy properties in deep surveys (optical, infrared, X-ray), and computational astrophysics.
Notable Research Projects: CFHT-LS Deep Survey, GOODS-Herschel, Mauna Kea Spectroscopic Explorer (MSE), Gemini Deep Deep Survey (GDDS), Horizon-AGN simulations, GHostS project, and SNLS supernovae studies. He developed the PEGASE spectral evolution code and contributed to empirical modeling of cosmic star formation history using infrared galaxy counts.
Education: Engineering degree from Supélec (2000), Master in Astrophysics from Meudon Observatory (University Paris XI), and PhD in Astrophysics from University Paris XI (2003). Postdoctoral positions at University of Toronto and CEA/Saclay.
Labs and Teams: Institut d’Astrophysique de Paris (IAP), Horizon Project (cosmological simulations), and collaborations with international surveys (CFHT, Gemini, Herschel).
