Damien Dufour is a Research Fellow at the University of Oslo, affiliated with the Stem Cell Epigenetics group and collaborating with the Charlotte Boccara Group on systems neuroscience and sleep research. He completed his PhD at Clermont-Ferrand, France, focusing on SUMOylation in adrenocortical cell differentiation.
His research explores cellular communication via endocrine/neural pathways, with current work on the SmartSense project investigating sleep deprivation's impact on adipose tissue homeostasis. Key interests include SUMOylation mechanisms, adipose tissue biology, cancer pathogenesis (particularly adrenocortical carcinoma and Carney complex), and metabolic regulation.
Publications (2018–2025) demonstrate consistent focus on SUMOylation's role in adrenal function, adipose tissue dynamics, and endocrine disorders. Recent work integrates machine learning for adipose characterization and examines circadian influences on metabolism.
He leads no mentioned awards, grants, or student advisements but contributes to interdisciplinary teams including the Nuclear Architecture in Adipose and Cancer Stem Cells group.
