Dainis Zegners

Dr. Dainis Zegners is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Technology and Operations Management within the Rotterdam School of Management (RSM), part of Erasmus University Rotterdam. His research explores how firms manage information asymmetries on digital platforms and online marketplaces, and he uses data from sports competitions (particularly chess tournaments) to study human decision-making and cognitive performance.

• Education: PhD in Management from LMU Munich; Diploma (M.Sc. equivalent) in Economics from the University of Bonn.
• Professional Roles: Former Assistant Professor at the University of Cologne; co-lead of the interdisciplinary Digitalisation, New Ways of Working, and the New Employee theme in the Erasmus Sectorplan SSH-Breed.

Dainis Zegners’s publications focus on empirical analyses of remote work, cognitive aging, and marketplace competition. He teaches courses such as Strategy and Economics of Platforms and Big Data and Business Analytics.
