Dagmar Samešová

Prof. Ing. Dagmar Samešová, PhD. serves as Professor and Head of the Department of Environmental Engineering at the Faculty of Ecology and Environmental Studies, Technical University in Zvolen (TUZVO) in Slovakia. She is actively engaged in university governance, currently serving as a member of the Scientific Council (since October 7, 2024), member of the Study Program Committee for Fire Protection and Safety (since September 1, 2021), and chairman of the Program Committee for Environmental Engineering (since April 12, 2016).

Her research focuses on environmental engineering with emphasis on:

• Waste management and biodegradation processes
• Bioremediation of contaminated sites including ash sludge lagoons
• Environmental impacts of odorous emissions
• Water resources and aquatic heritage conservation in the Danube Region
• Life Cycle Assessment applications in environmental engineering
• Environmental health determinants and monitoring

Prof. Samešová leads multiple research projects funded by APVV, VEGA, IPA, and Operational Programs for Research and Innovation, with current projects extending through 2027. Her work demonstrates strong integration of theoretical research with practical environmental solutions.
