Dagmar Meyer

Professor Dagmar Meyer serves as Research Professor for Assistive Technologies at Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences' Faculty of Electrical and Information Engineering. With a career spanning over two decades at the institution, she previously held positions as Professor of Control and Software Engineering and Professor of Systems Engineering and Physics.

Her research focuses on assistive technologies, specifically investigating how digital technology can support people with disabilities, special needs, elderly individuals, and those impaired by illness. Professor Meyer emphasizes user-friendly interfaces, inter- and transdisciplinary collaboration, co-creation processes, and participatory design in her work.

She currently leads several significant research projects including ImmerTec, KI4Physio, Robo4Ever, and HERZ+OHR, with funding from organizations including Volkswagen Foundation, Leibniz Association, and BMBF. Her research spans mobile autonomous robotics, graphical user interface development, and AI applications in healthcare settings.

Professor Meyer is actively involved in university governance as a member of the Faculty Council, Senate, and Research Commission. She also serves as a liaison lecturer for the German National Academic Foundation, supporting scholarship recipients at Ostfalia.

Her teaching portfolio includes Control Engineering 1, Robotics and Actuators, Simulation and Control of Dynamic Systems, and Digital Control Engineering. She also contributes to the 'Brave New World – Potentials and Challenges of AI' lecture series with a focus on AI in health and care.
