Daegeun Kim is an Assistant Professor in Global Hospitality & Tourism Education at Eastern Kentucky University. His research focuses on consumer behavior, marketing, hotel management, and sustainability. He holds a Ph.D. in Nutrition and Hospitality Management from The University of Mississippi, an M.S. in Tourism Management & Marketing from Bournemouth University, and dual undergraduate degrees in International Business and International Studies from Kyung Hee University.

Dr. Kim’s research explores how hotel marketing strategies influence guest decision-making, with particular emphasis on sustainable practices and digital reputation management. His work applies psychological frameworks like the Stimulus-Organism-Response Model to analyze consumer behavior in hospitality contexts. Recent studies investigate minimum wage impacts on restaurants and the role of Destination Marketing Organizations in international student travel.
His publications highlight trends in green initiatives, customer satisfaction, and technological integration in tourism and hospitality. Awards include a Graduate Instructor Excellence in Teaching Award Finalist nomination and a 2nd-place finish at the Ole Miss Graduate Research Symposium. He is affiliated with the International Council on Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Education (ICHRIE) and served as a Senior Translator in the South Korean military from 2005–2007.
