DOROTHY TSE

Dr. Dorothy Tse is a Reader in Psychology at the Psychology Health Research Institute, specializing in the neurobiology of memory. Her research focuses on how the brain processes and retains new information, with three main themes: the influence of prior knowledge, novelty, and curiosity on learning; the effects of aging and dementia on memory; and bridging animal and human memory research through translational studies. She employs techniques such as behavioral analysis, virtual reality, EEG, and TMS. Collaborations include work with the University of the Third Age, Healthwatch Dorset, and the Early Onset Dementia Group. She holds a PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Edinburgh (2011). She leads the Tse Lab and is involved in the Superbrains project (2022-2024).
