DAVID REY BRETAL

David Rey Bretal is an Assistant Professor at the University of Santiago de Compostela, affiliated with the Faculty of Nursing and the Department of Psychiatry, Radiology, Public Health, Nursing, and Medicine. His research focuses on gerontology, geriatrics, dependency, and preclinical brain imaging techniques, particularly PET protocols for studying brain tumors.

He earned his Doctorate from the University of Santiago de Compostela in 2022 with a thesis titled Development of new preclinical brain PET protocols for the study of brain tumors, supervised by Dr. Pablo Aguiar Fernández and Dr. Álvaro Ruibal Morell.

His work bridges clinical and preclinical research, emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches to neuroimaging and aging-related health challenges.
