Daniel Pugh is a Professor of Practice in Texas A&M University's Department of Educational Administration & Human Resource Development (School of Education & Human Development). He previously served as Vice President for Student Affairs at Texas A&M (2015-2021) and Vice Provost for Student Affairs at the University of Arkansas (prior to 2015), holding joint faculty appointments as Associate Professor and later Professor of the Practice. His professional roles include:
- Civilian Aide to the Secretary of the Army (CASA) for Texas Brazos Valley
- National Executive Board Member of Catholic Campus Ministries Association (CCMA)
- Editorial Board Member of TACUSPA's Student Affairs on Campus Journal

Leadership roles include service on the APLU Student Affairs Council Executive Board and ACE Title IX advisory work. He currently serves as Faculty Senator for the School of Education & Human Development (2023-2026).
