DANIEL BUCUR

Prof. Daniel BUCUR serves as Professor and Head of the Department of Pedotechnics at the Faculty of Agriculture, Ion Ionescu de la Brad University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine from Iasi. He currently directs the Doctoral School of Engineering Sciences (2016–present) and previously held key administrative roles including Director of Quality Assurance Department (2012–2016), Director of the Council for Doctoral Studies (2011–2012), and General Chancellor of USAMV Iaşi (2008–2012).

His research focuses on soil and water resource sustainability, with core expertise in irrigation systems, drainage engineering, soil erosion control, and environmental protection. Key investigation areas include sustainable soil management in drained agricultural zones, hydro-climatic risk impacts on small catchments, and innovative applications of sewage sludge in agriculture.

Prof. BUCUR coordinates research grants and contracts while overseeing doctoral programs in Engineering Sciences. He actively contributes to international soil science communities through memberships in ISTRO, IUSS, and ESSC, advancing soil conservation methodologies and sustainable land-use practices.
