D. Yogi Goswami

Dr. D. Yogi Goswami is a Distinguished University Professor and Director of the Clean Energy Research Center (TECO-CERC) at the University of South Florida. He is also the Emeritus Editor-in-Chief of the Solar Energy journal and Editor-in-Chief of Solar Compass, the journal of the International Solar Alliance. With over 400 publications, 23 books, and 42 patents, he is a globally recognized leader in solar and clean energy technologies.

• Education: PhD and MS in Mechanical Engineering from Auburn University; BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Delhi.

Dr. Goswami pioneered transformative advancements in energy systems, including the development of the Goswami Cycle, a combined power and cooling cycle, and photo-electrochemical oxidation (PECO) technology for air and water disinfection. His research focuses on concentrating solar power, energy storage, smart materials, and indoor air quality. He has commercialized photonic technologies to address allergies and asthma.

Dr. Goswami has held leadership roles in major professional societies, including serving as President of the International Solar Energy Society and Senior Vice President of ASME-International. His work has influenced global energy policies and fostered collaborations with institutions like the University of New South Wales and Florida Polytechnic University to improve cost-effective solar technologies.

As Director of TECO-CERC, he leads research in solar thermal power, photovoltaics, and biomass conversion, aligning with Florida's goal to reduce fossil fuel dependency through its abundant solar resources. His work includes designing solar plants on reclaimed land and advancing thermodynamic cycles for energy efficiency.
