Céline Carrère is a Full Professor of International Economics at the University of Geneva since 2015 and Director of the Global Studies Institute, an interdisciplinary center for regional and international research. She is a CEPR Research Fellow in International Trade and Regional Economics and affiliated with the RIEF (Research in International Economics and Finance) network.
- Ph.D. in Economics and Econometrics from CERDI (Center for Studies and Research on International Development), France (2005)
- Previous roles: Research Fellow at CNRS (France, 2007-2011), Assistant Professor at HEC Lausanne (Switzerland, 2005-2007)
Her research focuses on developing countries' exports, trade liberalization and unemployment, preferential market access, and the impact of trade costs, culture, and language on bilateral trade. Her recent work explores labor market effects of trade agreements and frictional unemployment in global trade.
Scientific awards include affiliations with CEPR and RIEF. She has collaborated with institutions like the World Bank and CEPII (French Economic Research Council for International Economic Studies).
