معرفی
Céline Brun serves as a CNRS Researcher at the Archaeometry and Archaeology Laboratory (UMR 5138 ArAr) within the Maison des Sciences de l'Homme (MSH) House of the Orient and the Mediterranean in Lyon. She leads post-excavation ceramic analysis teams for major archaeological programs across France and internationally, coordinating ceramic studies from sites including Lentilly, Vienne, and Cambodia. Her work integrates advanced documentation techniques using CAD and database management systems.
Her research expertise spans Ceramology, Archaeometry, and Roman material culture, with particular focus on African Sigillata production and ceramic technological studies. She has developed comprehensive ceramic reference systems that bridge traditional ceramological methods with archaeometric databases, advancing analytical approaches in Mediterranean archaeology.
Recent publications reveal consistent specialization in ceramic analysis from Late Roman contexts through Gallo-Roman urban sites, demonstrating methodological rigor in ceramic typology, technological characterization, and contextual interpretation. Her collaborative work appears in major archaeological proceedings and journal publications across European institutions.
Beyond research, Brun actively contributes to academic training through Master's programs at Université Lyon 2 and guest lectures at institutions including ENS Ulm and the University of Neuchâtel. She participates in experimental archaeology projects such as ceramic firings at Saint Romain en Gal Museum and maintains extensive professional networks in international ceramology communities.
