Cândida Ferrito

Cândida Ferrito is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Health Sciences and Nursing and the Lisbon Nursing School, both part of Universidade Católica Portuguesa. She is a researcher at the Center for Interdisciplinary Research in Health (CIIS), where she actively contributes to health research projects focused on nursing interventions, critical care, and vulnerable populations.

Her research interests span a wide range of topics in nursing, including ventilator-associated pneumonia, intensive care nursing, community mental health, homelessness and family transitions, and spiritual coping in healthcare settings. Her work combines clinical application with community-based interventions, especially among marginalized groups.

The trends in her recent publications reflect a strong commitment to improving patient outcomes through evidence-based guidelines, qualitative inquiry into social determinants of health, and innovative communication strategies in critical care. Her research often employs scoping reviews, quasi-experimental designs, and qualitative methodologies.
