Cármen Sofia Ribas Fontes Guimarães

Cármen Sofia Ribas Fontes Guimarães is an Associate Professor at the University of Aveiro, affiliated with the Aveiro-Norte School of Design, Management and Production Technologies. She holds multiple administrative roles, including Member of the Unit Council, Member of the Executive Committee, and Member of the Course Committee. Her professional duties include directing the Ctesp in Industrial Process Management and the Cet Organization and Work Planning. She is actively involved in research and technology transfer initiatives.

Her research focuses on advanced manufacturing technologies, such as additive manufacturing with cork, biobased composites, and nanotechnology-driven materials. She also explores industrial process optimization, digital transformation in SMEs (Economy 4.0), and blockchain applications for decentralization. Her work emphasizes sustainability, including projects on reusable tooling and eco-friendly materials.
