Cynthia Stinson

Cynthia Stinson, Ph.D., is the Chair of the Dishman School of Nursing at Lamar University. She holds academic ranks of Associate Professor (2011–2021) and previously served as Assistant Professor (2000–2006). Her roles include clinical educator, consultant, and surgical assistant in cardiovascular, thoracic, and eye surgery. She teaches graduate courses in Curriculum and Advanced Pathophysiology in the Master of Science in Nursing program.

Cynthia’s personal resilience is highlighted by her battle with breast cancer post-Ph.D. graduation, which motivates her to empower students to make impactful patient care decisions.
