Dr. Cynthia S. Randall is a Clinical Professor in the School of Nursing at the University of Southern Maine (USM), affiliated with the College of Science, Technology, and Health. She joined the faculty in 2010 and earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in 2015, focusing on nursing education. Her expertise includes simulation-based education, ethics, and advancing teaching practices in nursing. She holds certifications as a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator.
Education: DNP (USM, 2015), MSN (USM, 2010), BSN (USM, 2005).
Research Interests: Dr. Randall specializes in innovative teaching methodologies like Critical Incident Videos (CIV) to enhance clinical instructor effectiveness. Her work emphasizes faculty development, ethics integration in clinical settings, and simulation-driven learning. She has presented nationally on her CIV Project, earning recognition such as the Distinguished Presenter Award (2020).
Awards: Includes the 2021 Faculty Senate Research Award, 2020 Distinguished Presenter Award, and 2013 Faculty Senate Teaching Award.
