Cymra Haskell

Cymra Haskell is a Teaching Professor of Mathematics at the University of Southern California's USC Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences. Their office is located in KAP 438B, and they can be reached at chaskell@usc.edu.

Education includes a Ph.D. and M.S. in Mathematics from Stanford University (1992 and 1988, respectively), and a B.S. in Mathematics from the University of London's Imperial College of Science and Technology (1985).

Research focuses on dynamical systems, stochastic processes, and ergodic theory. Notable work includes analyzing population dynamics models like the Beverton-Holt equation and studying hyperbolic K-systems' ergodic properties. Their 2005 paper addressed the M. Neubert conjecture in stochastic modeling, while earlier work (1996) demonstrated connections between nonuniformly hyperbolic systems and Bernoulli shifts.

Awarded the 2005–2006 Teaching Has No Boundaries Award and recognized through USC's Academic Culture Initiative for contributions to pedagogy. Active in mathematics education at the undergraduate level.
