Curtis S. Morrill is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Economics at Bates College, located in Lewiston, Maine. He holds a Ph.D. in Agricultural & Resource Economics from the University of California, Davis, and a B.A. in Economics and Government from Bowdoin College. His research focuses on the impacts of democratization, decentralization reforms, and natural resource revenues on local development outcomes and political accountability, spanning disciplines including development economics, public economics, and political economy.
Dr. Morrill’s expertise bridges theoretical and applied microeconomics, with a particular emphasis on how institutional changes and resource allocation influence socioeconomic dynamics. His work integrates quantitative methods to analyze policy implications in resource-dependent regions and governance structures. He is affiliated with the Department of Economics at Bates College, where he contributes to undergraduate teaching and research.
