Curt Porter serves as an Associate Professor of English and Director of the MA in Literature and Composition program at Indiana University of Pennsylvania's College of Arts, Humanities, Media, and Public Affairs within the Language, Literature, and Writing Department.
His research focuses on the connections between language, bodies, and movement in educational contexts. Porter believes language and learning are activities that incorporate the creative use of bodies and space, emphasizing their importance as sites of relevant educational, social, and cultural action. His academic interests include Language Pedagogy, Curriculum Theory, Multilingual and Multisensory writing.
Professor Porter teaches several key courses including ENGL 101: Composition 1, ENGL 424: Second Language Acquisition, and ENGL 825: Second Language Literacies. His educational background includes a PhD from Pennsylvania State University.
