Csaba Pléh is a renowned Hungarian psychologist and cognitive scientist currently serving as a Professor of Psychology at the Department of Cognitive Science, Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME). Previously, he held academic and administrative roles at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Eötvös Loránd University, and the University of Szeged.

His research spans the history of cognitive approaches in philosophy, psychology, biology, and linguistics; psychology of language (including processing and development); and language development in impaired populations like Williams Syndrome and Specific Language Impairment (SLI). His work explores sentence understanding, morphology's role in Hungarian, spatial language, language typology, and cognitive impairments linked to language profiles.
Pléh has led significant academic initiatives, such as founding the Department of Cognitive Science at BME (2004) and establishing the Center for Cognitive Science (2002-2005). He has been recognized with prestigious awards, including membership in Academia Europaea and the Hungarian Academy of Sciences' Price of Excellence.
