Dr. Crystal P. Glover serves as Associate Professor and Early Childhood Education Program Director within Winthrop University's College of Education, Sport, and Human Sciences. She joined the faculty in 2014 and maintains active involvement in local, state, and national early childhood education initiatives through partnerships and editorial leadership.
Her academic credentials include a Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, complemented by both an M.Ed. and B.S. from Winthrop University. This educational foundation supports her specialized focus on equity-centered pedagogy.
Research priorities center on culturally responsive approaches for low-wealth families, sustainable early literacy instruction, teacher preparation models, and educator retention in high-needs schools. These interconnected themes address systemic challenges in early childhood education through community-engaged scholarship.
Dr. Glover serves as Winthrop Faculty in Residence at Ebinport Elementary School in Rock Hill, SC, and co-edits the national journal Provocations and Perspectives for the Early Childhood Education Assembly of NCTE. Her outreach extends through university partnerships including the Winthrop-School Partnership Network and Rex Institute for Educational Renewal.
