Cristina Stolojescu

Cristina Stolojescu is a Senior Lecturer at the Politehnica University of Timisoara, Department of Communications. She has been with the university since 2007, progressing from preparator (2007-2009), assistant (2009-2016), to her current role as Şef de Luncări (Senior Lecturer) since 2016. Her research focuses on medical imaging (ultrasound, optical coherence tomography), signal processing, and telecommunications, particularly in SONAR image restoration, speckle reduction, and WiMAX traffic analysis.

Education: She earned her PhD in cotutelle with Telecom Bretagne (now IMT Atlantique), France, under Prof. Alexandru Isar and Philippe Lenca, completing her thesis in 2012. She has held visiting scholar positions at IUT Rennes (2014), Hochschule Karlsruhe (2015), and IUT Brest (2014).

Research Contributions: Her work includes co-authoring Selected Topics in Communications Engineering (2015) and over 15 peer-reviewed papers. Key topics include wavelet-based denoising for medical imaging, compressive sensing in SONAR systems, and data mining for network traffic forecasting.

Administrative Roles: Member of the Department Council (2016-2020), thesis committee member, and grant project participant (AVEA, ATRACTING). She teaches courses like Communications Protocols (since 2018) and supervises diploma projects in inpainting and networking.

Collaborations: Peer reviewer for journals such as Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing and conferences like ISSCS and ISETC. She actively participates in international conferences, including TSP 2015 (Prague) and ISSCS 2011 (Iași).
