Cristina Richie is a Lecturer of Ethics of Technology at the University of Edinburgh's Edinburgh Futures Institute and School of Philosophy, Psychology and Language Sciences. She previously held positions including Assistant Professor at East Carolina University and Lecturer at Delft University of Technology. Her research focuses on environmental bioethics, sustainable healthcare, and the ethical implications of medical technologies. Key roles include co-Editor of Global Bioethics, Editorial Board member of Global Bioethics Enquiry, and Head of the Netherlands Unit of the UNESCO Chair in Bioethics.
Her research emphasizes strategies for decarbonizing healthcare systems and addressing climate change through ethical frameworks. Notable publications include Principles of Green Bioethics: Sustainability in Health Care (2019) and Environmental Bioethics: Theory and Practice for Environmentally Sustainable Health Care (2024).
